County Commission recognizes Merritt Island Kiwanis on 60th Anniversary

The Kiwanis Club of Merritt Island, Florida maintains an active involvement in community activities by awarding scholarships to local students and raising awareness in community service by sponsoring the Key Clubs at Merritt Island High School and Edgewood Jr/Sr High School and the Builders Club at Thomas Jefferson Middle School. Recent service projects include food drives to benefit the Central Brevard Sharing Center, the annual Kiwanis Jr. Olympics, Christmas party for Devereux Florida residents, and assistance with the Special Olympics.

The club meets on the first, and third Thursday evenings of each month at 6:00 PM.  The first meeting of the month is our business meeting where we discuss upcoming service projects and general club administration. The second meeting is our dinner meeting when we host a guest speaker.  The meetings are held in the meeting room of the Doyle Carlton Pavilion in Kiwanis Island Park. (map)

Membership is open to all adults with a desire to become more involved in community service/activities. Email us:  for more information.

The club awards several scholarships each year to deserving Key Club members at Merritt Island High School and Edgewood Jr/Sr High School.
